Hammerdown

Romans 1:20
“For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities– his eternal power and divine nature– have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse.”

There is a story about this video. I was listening to my iPod one Saturday night before going to sleep, and either had never heard the song before, or it had never stood out to me. The song is about the sacrifice of Jesus the Christ, and everything He went through just to save you and I. The song quickly turns to a self-examining question of why I sin. Every time I sin, I am the one who beat Jesus in the face. I am the one who spat on him. I am the one who flogged him. Every sin is the cause and effect of the brutal torture that I chose to do to God. I nailed him to the cross, and I brought the hammer down. I crucified Christ. I am guilty beyond all measure, and deserve the full wrath of God. I deserve to die…yet, God has done the complete opposite! He loved me before I was made, and blessed me when I killed His Son. God loved me so much, that He decided to take my place. He suffered and died to allow me to be with Him. God’s mercy is never-ending, and nothing can separate us from His love. Jesus didn’t have to die because He had to…He died because He wanted to. God doesn’t owe us anything. We owe Him our lives…because we sin, and because He gave us a way out (as He always does!). We just have to choose to accept His forgiveness…His love…His sacrifice…His mercy. Our lives are in His hands anyway, so we might as well give it all up to Him. He is the creator of the universe, and of every person in existence. He knows every detail of our entire lives. God wants to have a relationship with you. He paid the price and took your place. Will you surrender or will you reject His love? That, my friend is up to you. You can accept the gift of God…or spit in His face. Your life is short, and no one gets out of here alive. Where will you spend eternity? With God, or in eternal separation of Him…knowing for all eternity what this choice really meant.

If you want to give your life to Him, you simply have to accept His sacrifice, and give your life over to God. The Bible says that if you confess with your mouth, and believe in your heart that Jesus is Lord and He died for your sins, you will be saved. You just have to pray to God and ask for forgiveness, and tell Him that you accept Jesus’s sacrifice. Will you do that today? If you have any questions, you can email me. Please, watch the video, and see if God is tugging at your heart.
